The Star Trek series has been on television since my childhood. It has been, in fact, one of my all-time favorite shows and I know for sure that I’m not the only one who feels so. For more than 40 years already, Star Trek has remained popular among the general public and last year, it has again made a breakthrough when WMS Gaming Industries introduced the Star Trek slot machine licensed under CBS Studios.
This new gaming device has virtually redefined the meaning of a slot machine. If you see it for the first time, you would not even think that it is a slot machine in the first place! Even its game play is completely different. While it is similar to the traditional slot machine in the sense that its objective is to win by matching the symbols, the Star Trek slot machine plays more like a video game.
As a player, you would first have to create a username, and then choose a character to MEGAGAME represent you. The characters to choose from include Captain Kirk, Hikaru Sulu, Uhura, Scotty, Doctor McCoy and Spock. The games to choose from, on the other hand, are based on the actual popular episodes from the TV series, such as “Trek Through Time”, “Bread and Circuses”, “The Trouble with Tribbles”, and “Explore New World”. Each game has its own set of screens and bonus stages, some of which are unique while some are common to all games.
Furthermore, each game is 5-reel and has 25 line video slots. Some slot machines allow you to play from 1-50 cents per credit. You may also opt to bet additional 10 credits that will make qualify you for a bonus feature called “Win Warp”. Note that each game has its own bonus feature that is set off by the different game symbols. Once you activate it, you will be asked to choose between two bonus features: pick an item or a free spin. Also, each game has 3 progressive jackpot levels that you will win if you can line up 3, 4, or 5 jackpot symbols.
